IELTS Overview
The IELTS test assesses the English language proficiency of people who want to study or work where English is the language used. It provides a fair, accurate, and relevant assessment of language skills based on well-established standards and covers the full range of ability, from the beginner through to a very high level.
IELTS tests come in two types: Academic or General Training.
Modules:
- Listening: 4 Sections, 40 Questions, 30 Minutes
- Reading: 3 Sections, 40 Questions, 3 Long Texts, 1 Hour
- Writing: 2 Tasks, 1 Hour
- Speaking: 3 Sections, 11-14 Minutes
Results are reported on a nine-band scale. This scale has remained consistent and acquired general currency around the world over the past three decades.
